NFL analyst says Rodgers to Jets is done, but conflicting reports say otherwise

Trey Wingo is the longtime NFL talker that many veteran sports fans know from his time on shows like NFL Primetime, NFL Live, SportsCenter, and ESPN Radio.

In that way, Wingo is a respected part of the sports media. When it comes to breaking news, though, he's still trying to develop his skills — and he's not Adam Schefter or Ian Rapaport.

However, that hasn't stopped Wingo from trying to break the news about Aaron Rodgers, and his latest tweet about the Rodgers story is big news. In fact, he tweeted that the Green Bay Packers are actually going to trade a four-time MVP for the New York Jets.

It was exciting news and all, but unfortunately, Wingo's tweet was immediately debunked by some of the usual mob.

Here are Rapaport and Schefter:

It's worth noting that longtime Green Bay-beating reporter Tom Silverstein seemed to initially agree with Wingo's report, but he also backed off a bit:

But as always, nothing is done until it is done and this is not a report that everything is done. https://t.co/coiOvO2TSR

So where is Rodgers in all of this? True to form, he seemed to be talking about something different from what the NFL world wanted to hear.

Wingo's tweet may end up being true. There's definitely a world where Rodgers becomes the Jets, and in fact, that seems very likely. However, it is worth noting that previous reports suggest both sides are waiting for a four-time MVP.

For now, we wait.

We are people in the dark.
